You missed a great weekend
May 19, 2008
Corps crew members for those of you who didnt make it up to Big Bear this weekend. All of you missed out on well one hell of a time. It turned out to be one of the most eventful trips that we will probably ever have. But the Corps Crew is resourceful and the trip rocked. Lets cover some of the things you guys missed. Where shall we start:
First was the minor fender bender that one of our members was involved in. MORAL of the story stay out of the way of a big ass truck hauling a bad ass Jeep. You will never win.
Now you have all probably seen Trail Guides out on the trail in there pimped out rig. But i bet you have never seen a trail guide lose his wheel in front of his customers and then bury it into the rocks. We all had a great laugh and took some great pictures. Be on the lookout for those in the photo gallery.
Then yours truly himself was trying to be a bad ass and take a line that might not have been wise in the green machine and she slide into a nice rock that was kind of rude and wouldnt move out of the way. But no hurt feelings here, its just like dating a girl that has a messed up grill. You still love her!!!
Now going up the trail we run into a beautiful Hummer and his buddy in a (hold on ill give you a chance to think................) here we go........a freaking stock ass H3 that was just getting its little butt tossed around. i dont know about you, but i wished that i had that kind of money to just throw around.
Well that covers day one, we rode the trail till about 2130 at night and i can say that all of us were starving. So we headed to Denny's with most members a little loud. But i will say that i have never seen a waitress get us our food faster than her and i think she might have just wanted us out of there.
Day two was a beautiful day and perfect weather to tackle the trail backwards. The Crew mounted up and we hit the train running. Everbody was just destroying it. But its no fun unless you got some stories to go with it. So here we go.
We made it pretty much the whole way with no problems, until we made a stop towards the end. One of our members broke one of his lockers. So he finished the trail in 3 wheel drive. We then made it thru the rest of the trail uneventfully, but when we got home the green machine had a bearing blowout on one of the tensioner wheels for the fan belt. I will tell you what nothing smells better than a belt getting smoked. So she had to be trailored back and i got to drive back another jeep that could only due 65 mph so i got to enjoy a wonderful drive all the way home. But it doesnt stop there, as Jeremy and I are cruising our way back we see our groups two trucks on the side of the road. We pull off and call them and find out that one of the trailers has thrown a tire and the tire beat all of us home to San Diego. Well now we have a convoy and we all limp back to San Diego a little tired, but we have some great stories to tell. We are a little banged up but its nothing that a beer and some great friends doesnt fix.
For all of you that missed out hopefully you will be able to join us on our next ride. Until then Semper Fi to all the Marines out there!!!!!!!!!! Get the word out gents and lets get the crew growing strong.

Most not forget the fact that the 2 Jeeps that rode on the trailers up had to drive back.
