Thanksgiving weekend in Big Bear, don't worry you'll have plenty of time with family and food! We know most dirt lovers head for the desert on Thanksgiving weekend, we will head for the mountains around noon on Friday, if you prefer you can meet us on the mountain Saturday morning. Two days will allow for more trails and we plan on doing them. Saturday we will take on Dishpan Springs, a trail many of you have not run. However, I will be contacting the Forest service to see if I can get the club involved in the adopt a trail program. As some of you know, the Big Bear area has been hit by some devastating wild fires and the Forest service needs volunteers to help restore the trails. This is important so the trails can reopen to the public. If we are able to get involved in this program we may spend Saturday cleaning up Holcomb Creek trail, one of my favorite trails in the area and one that we all want access restored to. Sunday we will take on Gold Mountain and John Bull, two other great trails in the area not devastated by fire. We will be spending Friday and Saturday nights in Big Bear, most likely at the Big Bear Frontier, I've stayed there many times. The exact place will be posted as soon as it's booked. Let's all eat turkey on Thanksgiving and then meet on the mountain for some great off road fun!
